No Team Roehampton newsletter in Roehampton Voice Issue 19?

Issue 19 of the Roehampton Voice did not have the Team Roehampton Newsletter in it, why is that?

A couple of readers have asked us if we know if there was a reason for Team Roehampton not having it’s newsletter inserted in the Issue 19 Winter edition of the Roehampton Voice.

We are aware that Team Roehampton had newsletter inserts within Issues 17 (June 2014) and 18 (October 2014). However, we don’t know the reason for the latest newsletter not being within the Roehampton Voice. So we’ll ask, and let you know what they say.

The Council has replied providing the following response.

“It’s important that as the regeneration moves into the next phases that we keep all of our communications with local residents and stakeholders under review. As you are aware the Masterplan for the Alton Estate has now been approved, with the next stage involving adopting it as formal planning guidance.

We have therefore decided that a separate “Team Roehampton” newsletter is the most effective and flexible way for the Council to ensure that its residents are provided with information about the process and informed about services.

Please be assured that we are continuing to support the Trust through arranging the print and delivery of Roehampton Voice. I met with Mr Tim Morris and the new RV editor before Christmas about this”.

What a carefully worded response from WBC !

Maybe the print and delivery of Roehampton Voice is being supported by WBC; but the absence since RoeRegeneration’s post to which this is a response of anything in the Roehampton Voice emanating from WBC/Team Roehampton – and this comment is being written in September 2015 – is a conspicuous change from last year. In those nine months or so, we have had the entire lifecycle of the Supplementary Planning Document (excepting only its final adoption, a foregone conclusion) and not a peep out of the Team Roehampton.

We now have the Housing Needs survey, in respect of those households (un)fortunate enough to face demolition, kicking off on 19th October. WBC/TR have had no comment about this fairly major matter appearing in September’s Voice, and it will have been under way for a month-and-a-half by the time the next edition comes out. Will December’s issue have anything in it about this pivotal regeneration campaign ?
