Roehampton has another ‘consultation’ underway which requires feedback by the 13th March and this is for a 20mph speed limit proposal on some of the roads within Roehampton.
With regards to this document there are a few comments that come to mind.
|1||Were the residents of Roehampton meant to receive this ‘consultation’ earlier? The author of this blog received this on the 18th February yet the front page states ‘January 2015’. Is this an oversight, or is there a behind the scenes reason for this?|
|2||Any ‘consultation’ which is produced by the Council without any background as to the reasons for its introduction should be questioned.|
|3||Given the reaction to the regeneration’s original proposals to open Danebury Avenue and Highcliffe Drive barriers, is this a clever way of slowing traffic down and then have yet another go at opening the barriers later in the future?|
|4||The diagrams on page 2 are very awkward to read. There has to be a better way of representing this, a full page for each would have been better, surely?|
|5||Were you aware of the petition? Not many seem to have been until now.|
|6||‘The area under consideration extends beyond the petitioning roads’, so, whom made the decision to extend this petition?|
|7||There’s no email address to contact the Council regarding this? Relying on phone calls is a way to have one to one conversations and minimise any aggregated feedback to a minimum.|
|8||Which Council Committee was this presented at, and by whom?|
|9||Notice the ‘consultation’ states ‘Roehampton’ and not the ‘Aton Estate’. This distinction is made by the putneysw15 website.[Click this sentence to read the article – ‘Following residents petitions to reduce speed limits’]
