Council Committee meeting 4th March – regeneration update
One thing residents should consider is signing up the Council’s ‘subscribe to updates’ section as this is a useful way of keeping up with what is happening in the area. This week an email popped into the inbox to highlight that the Minutes of the ‘Council’ meeting of Wednesday 4th March were published.
Having a quick scan, Item 11, caught the attention. A few of the points could be expanded upon by roeregeneration though point (c) is a good starting point. It states the following;
|(c) this Council wholeheartedly supports the regeneration proposals outlined for the Alton, Winstanley and York Road Estates where it will transform the lives and hopes of some of the most deprived communities in the Borough, standing by its pledge that affected existing tenants and resident leaseholders will, if they wish, be re-housed as close as possible to their current homes and endeavouring to ensure no tenant moves more than once;|
Point (c) is interesting for two reasons. The first is that “the regeneration proposals outlined for the Alton, Winstanley and York Road Estates where it will transform the lives and hopes of some of the most deprived communities in the Borough”.
Question: How is the regeneration going to transform the “hopes” of the Alton Estate?
The second, “endeavouring to ensure no tenant moves more than once”.
Question: It was thought that the moves would be a one move process, not an “endeavour” to meet a one move process? If anyone has more information about this, can you please let us know.
