Roehampton University is seeking the “Proposal Retention of seven portacabins sited against the southern boundary for a period of three years (affecting the setting of a Grade I listed building)”. Having not been able to find the planning permission for these cabins being there in the first place the Planning Department was approached. In short, the University does not have planning permission for these cabins and is seeking retrospective planning permission.
According to the letter from the University agent, Boyer, these cabins are used for teaching psychology.

Is there really spare car parking capacity?
Please do have a read of the planning application as it appears to make assumptions that Alton Estate residents may consider incorrect, such as the assertion regarding car parking. A complaint that has been raised by residents near and around the Holyborne Road University entrance is that those connected to the University park cars on the Alton Estate rather than on its premises. The below picture of Holyborne Road is from yesterday at 12:30pm and the car park around Parkstead House was full, so…how many of these cars belong to non-Alton Estate residents?
