Alton Estate ‘repair’ service charges 2014-15

Fascinating…..trying to understand what was charged for a Council block on the Alton Estate for the 2014-15 period, there was some information seen as to the ‘Estate Cost’.

You might want to have a read of this and see whether there is anything which interests you.

One that grabbed the attention was the following on page 26;

20160724c

This is £80 ‘Plus Minor repairs commission fee’.

Roehampton Club – not worthy of a spot of the Roehampton Partnership?

Well, the situation of the Roehampton Club not putting in an appearance at the Roehampton Festival took an interesting twist, thanks to the Roehampton Voice. Apparently, the Roehampton Club did not appear to have much of a clue regarding what the Roehampton Festival was all about? Have a read below.

Now, according to Wandsworth Council in its recent paper 16-227 which was presented at the Council’s Housing and Regeneration Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting of 6th July 2016, the regeneration has been in “consultation” with the Roehampton Partnership (see below). It is questionable that this is a “consultation” though moving on……

pic 1a

Now, as a reminder, the attendees at the Roehampton Partnership are as follows;

pic 1b

Let’s have a look at the Roehampton Club’s attendance record at the Roehampton Partnership over the past few years;

  • 18th March 2013 (Roehampton Club) – attended
  • 17th July 2013 (University of Roehampton) – did not attend
  • 25th September 2013 (University of Roehampton) – did not attend
  • 2nd December 2013 (University of Roehampton) – did not attend
  • 10th February 2014 (University of Roehampton) – attended
  • 8th July 2014 (University of Roehampton) – attended
  • 9th September 2014 (University of Roehampton) – did not attend
  • 3rd December 2014 (Roehampton Club) – attended
  • 25th March 2015 (University of Roehampton) – did not attend
  • 24th June 2015 (University of Roehampton) – did not attend
  • 23rd September 2015 (Queen Mary’s Hospital) – did not attend
  • 1st December 2015 (University of Roehampton) – did not attend
  • 15th March 2016 (University of Roehampton) – did not attend

So, of the 13 meetings the Roehampton Club has attended only 3 meetings and 2 of these when hosted at the Roehampton Club……and hasn’t attended since December 2014…..

According to the Roehampton Partnership constitution, this Roehampton Club should have been removed by now…………………………………………….and had they attended they would be aware of the Roehampton Festival as it discussed at these meetings……..

Wandsworth Guardian and Putneysw15 online articles

Given that the Alton Estate and well, Roehampton for that matter, barely sees the Wandsworth Guardian on its door step, perhaps the summary below of the online articles is of help. These articles are marked WG.

Articles from Putneysw15 will now be added and will be marked (p15).

If any are missed, let us know and we will see what we can do add these in.

Weekly Council Planning applications and decisions – July 9th

Given there is so much happening in the ward at the moment, it might be worth residents keeping a watch on what is being planned for the Alton Estate. So, on a best endeavours basis, we’ll try to include this section.

 The page numbers refer to the Wandsworth Council planning applications and decisions for the Roehampton & Putney Heath ward. Whilst every effort is made to highlight the page numbers it is always best for the reader to have a look for themselves.

To read the applications and decisions click on the below underlined sentences.

Applications (page 22)

170 Roehampton Lane is applying to make an amendment to its existing plans and those that live in the Tunworth and Tangley neighbourhoods might want to review this application. A brief outline is – “Variation of condition 10 pursuant to planning permission ref: 2014/7203 dated 19/03/2015 for the demolition of parts of existing building and erection of two-storey buildings to provide two-form entry primary school, with associated landscaping, hard and soft play areas, habitat areas, bicycle parking and parking and felling of 27 trees, so as to allow the outside playground to be used between the hours of 0800 and 21:00 Monday to Sunday”.

Decisions (page 18)

Well, the ward just seems to keep growing in terms of housing, one property becomes six.

Roehampton University seeking planning permission for cabins near Parkstead House (part 13)

Even though planning application 2016/1385 concerning the portable cabins by Parkstead House, Whitelands College, Roehampton University has been withdrawn, it would be worth following the progress of when these cabins will be removed.

Given these cabins have been located there for some time already and the planning application was first lodged on 15th March and only recently withdrawn, that means there have now been four months which have passed.

pic 1

We are aware that residents are following up with the Council regarding the enforcement of the removal of the cabins and we will keep you posted.
