Car parking fines on the Alton Estate

Given the recent planning applications of the University and the subsequent discovery that it does not provide parking for its students, it created a thought about the pressures on car parking to the extent that there have been car parking fines?

The pictures below are both taken on Iblsey Gardens, opposite 35 Fontley Way.

The Council thus far seems to be struggling to provide the information being asked of them (in that how many fines are being handed out on the estate?) and we are aware of at least fines on Ibsley Gardens and one on Fontley Way. We have heard of others though they have not shared the names of the roads on which they occurred.

If you know of any parking fines which have occurred on the below, please do let us know.

  • Petersfield Rise
  • Durford Crescent
  • Dilton Gardens
  • Ryefield Path
  • Foxcombe Road
  • Stoughton Close
  • Hyacinth Road
  • Arnewood Close
  • Alton Road
  • Bessborough Road
  • Horndean Close
  • Timsbury Walk
  • Fontley Way
  • Insbley Gardens
  • Holybourne Avenue
  • Bordon Walk
  • Hersham Close
  • Laverstoke Gardens
  • Danebury Avenue
  • Tangley Grove
  • Ellisfield Drive
  • Kingsclere Close
  • Harbridge Avenue
  • Ellisfield Drive
  • Minstead Gardens
  • Swanick Close
  • Chadwick Close
  • Cleeve Way
  • Portswood Place
  • Highcliffe Drive
  • Wanborough Drive
  • Durford Crescent
  • Norley Vale

Remember, car parking has been raised by many people living on the estate as an issue and one wonders what will happen with the regeneration, or if there are more students accepted to the University whom drive a car to get there.
