Roehampton crime figures – December 2016

The Roehampton December 2016 crime figures were recently released and it is interesting that at the December Alton Regeneration Watch meeting a topic was how the regeneration will improve crime figures. Councillor Carpenter provided views on the topic though his focus was on ‘drug crime’ which from the figures shown for December 2016 is quite low as a proportion of the total crimes reported.

You will see that over the years anti-social behaviour has decreased though violence and sexual offences has increased. This used to be referred to as “violent crime” until May 2013. It will be fascinating to see how, or whether, the regeneration will impact these figures as according to the Supplementary Planning Document one of the “key drivers” for this document, though as of yet, there has been no firm plan shown to residents (at least according to conversations with Alton Estate residents) as to how ‘violence against the person’ and ‘criminal damage incidents’ will be dealt with by the regeneration?

PLEASE NOTE: All efforts to aggregate the data have been done on best efforts basis and if these are to used for any purpose it is strongly recommended that one conducts their own validation of the data produced.
