Farnborough House gas leak (8 July 2019)

Introduction

On the 8th July 2019 in the evening it was noticed that there were a few emergency vehicles parked nearby. At first, when an ambulance driver was asked which building it was which was in need of emergency the ambulance driver was not sure though after wondering around the area it was noticed that people were exiting Farnborough House, SW15 4NF. The feedback from residents was that this was due to a gas leak.

The following are photos which highlight how narrow the roads have become for emergency services to approach buildings in the Alton East. The point was recently made by Kimpton House Residents’ Association with regards to the Fontley Way Consultation as this could push more cars into an already congested area, an area that the Western Area Housing Team know well is under car parking pressure.

New trees for Hyacinth neighbourhood

Background

It had been noticed for sometime by the Stoughton Close/Greatham Walk/Ryefield Path Residents Association (SCGWRPRA) that there appeared to be areas where there used to be trees though they did not appear to have been replaced.

On the 23rd January 2018 three of those areas had trees planted.
