Whilst every effort is made to highlight the page numbers and present the information below it is always best for the reader to have a read of the original Council documents just in case any errors have been made.

Roehampton Lofts advertises sale of apartments with ‘non restricted’ parking

Background

There have been a few articles regarding the Heathmere School Keepers House, SW15 4LJ, planning application (2016/7179 and 2017/4304) and this is has been queried regarding the possible change in scope of bedroom sizes – https://roeregeneration.wordpress.com/2019/03/26/heathmere-school-keepers-house-now-called-roehampton-loft-and-seems-to-have-grown/ .

Yet something else might have crept into the review of this planning application. There are no car parking places with this planning application and (surprise, surprise) the estate agent is highlighting the lack of on street car parking restrictions as a selling point.

Drivers on the estate, how do you fell about that?

Heathmere School Keepers House now called Roehampton Loft (and seems to have grown?)

Background

For those of you that were aware, the area which was the Heathmere School Keepers House, SW15 4LJ, was to be converted into “3 x two bed duplex apartments at ground and first floor level, all with private external area to the rear and 3 x one bed loft apartments with mezzanine above at second floor level”. At least that is from planning applications 2016/7179 and 2017/4304.

What’s happened?

First, we now know it’s called “Roehampton Lofts” which reads rather lush!?

Second, have you noticed the Hamptons board states “6 Two bedroom Duplex Apartments”. Yet the planning application seems to be for 3 x 1 bedroom and 3 x 2 bedroom apartments?

Enforcement

It’s understood that an enforcement form has been completed by a resident and it might be the case that something has been missed and all is fine with this 6 x 2 bedroom change? Though time will tell and we’ll try to keep you updated. The enforcement reference number is 1070.0.

Heathmere School Keepers House apartments almost ready?

What’s happening?

A planning application (2016/7179) was approved which would permit 6 residential units to be built on the former Heathmere School Keepers House (Alton Road, SW15 4LJ). This article is to provide readers with some background information along with some current views of the area.

This is located at – https://www.google.com/maps/place/51%C2%B026’40.8%22N+0%C2%B014’29.0%22W/@51.444665,-0.2425215,290m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m13!1m6!3m5!1s0x48760edbed2905d7:0xb1819da8b7db42b8!2sHeathmere+Primary+School!8m2!3d51.4455987!4d-0.2419857!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d51.4446651!4d-0.2413898

The background

“Erection of new three storey building comprising of 6 new residential dwellings (3 x two-bedroom duplex apartments at ground and first floor level, all with private external area to the rear, and 3 x one-bedroom loft apartments with rear balconies at second floor level). Associated landscaping, boundary treatment and cycle and refuse storage”  as sourced from – https://planning1.wandsworth.gov.uk/Northgate/PlanningExplorer/Generic/StdDetails.aspx?PT=Planning%20Applications%20On-Line&TYPE=PL/PlanningPK.xml&PARAM0=881526&XSLT=/Northgate/PlanningExplorer/SiteFiles/Skins/Wandsworth/xslt/PL/PLDetails.xslt&FT=Planning%20Application%20Details&PUBLIC=Y&XMLSIDE=/Northgate/PlanningExplorer/SiteFiles/Skins/Wandsworth/Menus/PL.xml&DAURI=PLANNING

From the document source mentioned above the high level information is summarised as follows;

What does the area look like?

The following are photos from various angles as to what the area currently looks like.

This view is of the new apartments if coming from Alton Road via the A3 (with Heathmere School to the left of it and Stoatley House 1-20 to the right of it).

This view is of the new apartments from the other side of Alton Road.

This view is of the new apartments if coming down Alton Road past Heathmere School (with Heathmere School to the left of it and Stoatley House 1-20 to the right of it).

This view is of the new apartments from Greatham Walk (with Gosport House 1-18 to the right of it and Greatham Walk 26 to the right of it).

How was this agreed?

This was agreed at the Council’s Planning Application Committee (PAC) on 23 March 2017 – https://democracy.wandsworth.gov.uk/mgAi.aspx?ID=37453#mgDocuments

The Council’s view of the planning application is outlined as the following – https://democracy.wandsworth.gov.uk/documents/s49688/11%202016-7179%20Heathmere%20School%20Keepers%20House%20Alton%20Road%20SW15.pdf

For more information one can refer to the planning application documents (though bear in mind that as the decision has been made on the application that all of the objections and comments received have been removed) – https://planning.wandsworth.gov.uk/WAM/showCaseFile.do?appType=planning&appNumber=2016/7179

Was there a Roehampton & Putney Heath Councillor on the PAC when the decision was made?

Yes there was, in this case it was Councillor Jeremy Ambache – https://democracy.wandsworth.gov.uk/mgMeetingAttendance.aspx?ID=5295

Is this site on the list of the Council’s brownfield sites?

Yes it is, enter ‘SW15 4LJ’ in the ‘Location’ field at the top of the webpage – https://maps.wandsworth.gov.uk/map/Aurora.svc/run?script=%5cAurora%5cpublic_Brownfield_Sites.AuroraScript%24&nocache=614915663&resize=always

Pocklington Court planning application has arrived

Well, Alton East is very busy at the moment.

At the moment the Heathmere School Keepers House, Alton Road, SW15 4LJ (2016/7179) is in the process of being built.

The Bessborough Road/Petersfield Rise, SW15 4AE, planning application (2017/6977) is in the process of receiving comments (and you can still get your comments in!).

Now the Pocklington Court 74 Alton Road, SW15 4NN, planning application (2018/0272) has become live as per the following which was received today. It is wondered what impacts will be had on car parking, public transport and the existing planning application 2017/6977?
